It’s a 1940s dance party in Charlottetown, with live swing music!

Let’s wind the clock back 80 or 90 years… you’re at a Harlem rent party, or a Chicago speakeasy… whether you’re a jazz hound, modern day dandy, hepcat or swing kid, it’s time to get your jam on.

Don’t know how to swing-dance yet? There’s a beginner ‘taster’ class from 6:30-7pm included in the admission – which is $10 at the door, to make sure the hardworking musicians get paid!

The band will play from 7-9pm and then we will dim the lights and put on some blues.

Dress code: 1920s-40s swing style – see event posts for inspiration! A search on Google Images will yield a goldmine, too.

Music is provide by the jazz quartet Strait Jazz: Perry and Isaac Williams, Doug Millington and Alan White.

6:30 – 10:00 pm Friday, March 2nd, at DownStreet Dance Studio, 165 John Yeo Drive. For more information, see the Facebook event
